FAG and Discovery Space Shuttle

The Space Shuttle Discovery that brought some highly spectacular pictures from her most recent flight, is equipped with FAG bearings. Made from nitrogen-alloyed special steel and fitted with ceramic balls and rollers, as usual, the bearings operated reliably in the turbo pumps which supply the combustion chambers with a fuel mixture of liquid hydrogen and oxygen.
